IT Risk Responsibilities

The advertised responsibilities cover technology-risk governance and risk-management activities. Depending on the position, officers may lead IT risk professionals, analyse technology-risk data, prepare risk reports, support senior-management committees, conduct risk and security reviews, and coordinate with departments on regulatory and audit requirements.

The notice also refers to risk-management frameworks and standards such as NIST, ISO 27001, COBIT and ITIL. Candidates should therefore review the detailed job profile and ensure that their experience certificates clearly establish relevant IT-risk or information-security work.

Salary and CTC

The Deputy Vice President (IT Risk) position carries an annual CTC of up to ₹60 lakh, while the Assistant Vice President (IT Risk) position carries an annual CTC of up to ₹50 lakh. The CTC is negotiable and depends on experience, current emoluments and place of posting.

SBI states that the annual CTC is divided into 80% fixed pay and 20% variable pay. The variable component is linked to the prescribed performance-appraisal structure. The advertisement does not describe these figures as a fixed basic salary.

Contract Period

The initial contract period is three years. SBI may extend the contract by up to two additional years subject to yearly review. The contract may be terminated by either side with three months’ notice or the applicable three-month compensation arrangement described in the notification.

Selection Process

1. Shortlisting

Meeting the minimum eligibility conditions does not automatically guarantee an interview. SBI will constitute a shortlisting committee and decide the parameters for selecting candidates for interview.

2. Interview

The interview carries 100 marks. SBI will determine the qualifying marks. Candidates should be prepared to explain their experience in IT risk, information security, technology controls, risk assessment, incident response, business continuity and related frameworks.

3. CTC Negotiation

After the interview, CTC negotiations are conducted with candidates in merit order. The final engagement is subject to successful negotiation and completion of the prescribed process.

Important Instructions for Applicants

SBI states that candidates should upload all relevant documents at the application stage. The Bank may verify original documents at the interview stage. Candidates working in government, public-sector undertakings, nationalised banks, financial institutions or SBI Group companies may need to produce an NOC as specified in the notification.

Candidates should also remember that the suggested Mumbai/Navi Mumbai posting is indicative. SBI reserves the right to post or transfer contractual officers to other offices in India or to depute them to an associate, subsidiary or other organisation according to service requirements.

Why the Experience Certificate Matters

For experienced specialist recruitment, the experience certificate should clearly establish the nature and period of relevant employment. SBI says experience may be verified through employer certificates, appraisal documents, engagement and relieving letters, offer letters with supporting evidence, or other authentic documents. Applicants should therefore avoid relying only on a generic designation when the notification asks for specialised IT-risk experience.
