Kerala PSC Forest Boat Driver Recruitment 2026 is notified under Category No. 153/2026 for 3 existing vacancies in the Forest & Wildlife Department: 2 in Thrissur and 1 in Kozhikode. The pay scale is ₹26,500–60,700 and applications close on 4 November 2026, 12 midnight.

Overview

Eligibility

Applicants must have SSLC or an equivalent qualification. A valid motor boat driving licence from the competent authority is mandatory, together with at least three years of Boat Driver experience. The licence must remain valid through the specified selection stages.

Candidates must have basic knowledge of motor boat engine mechanisms and be able to perform minor repairs. They must also be able to swim. Kerala PSC will assess boat-driving proficiency through a practical test and swimming ability through a separate swimming test.

Age Limit

The normal age range is 25–40 years. Candidates born between 2 January 1986 and 1 January 2001 are eligible, subject to permitted relaxations. The notification specifies conditions under which the maximum age cannot exceed 50 years.

Physical Standards

The notification prescribes a minimum height of 168 cm and chest measurement of 81 cm with at least 5 cm expansion. For SC/ST candidates, minimum height is 160 cm; the chest expansion requirement remains.

Physical Efficiency and Swimming

Candidates must qualify the prescribed physical efficiency test. The notification lists eight National Physical Efficiency one-star standard events, from which five must be qualified. Events include 100-metre run, high jump, long jump, shot put, cricket-ball throw, rope climbing, pull-ups and 1500-metre run.

The swimming test requires a 50-metre trial within two minutes and two minutes of floating ability at the deeper side of the pool. Both events must be cleared.

District-wise Vacancies

Candidates cannot apply to more than one district under this notification. Selection is district-wise and the notification contains specific transfer conditions after appointment.
