SSC CHSL Recruitment 2026 has been announced for the Combined Higher Secondary (10+2) Level Examination, 2026. Posts and Vacancies

The tentative vacancies are for LDC/JSA, DEO and DEO Grade ‘A’ posts in Central Government ministries, departments and offices. SSC has described the 2,536 figure as tentative; final post-wise and category-wise vacancies may be updated later after requirements are received and verified.

Educational Qualification

Candidates must generally have passed Class 12 or an equivalent examination from a recognised board or university. For specified DEO/DEO Grade ‘A’ posts, SSC requires Class 12 in the Science stream with Mathematics as a subject. Candidates appearing in Class 12 may also apply if they obtain the required qualification by 7 October 2026.

Age Limit

The prescribed age limit is 18 to 27 years as on 1 August 2026. Candidates must have been born between 2 August 1999 and 1 August 2008, both dates inclusive. Applicable category-wise age relaxation is available under Government rules.

Salary / Pay Level

LDC/JSA posts are in Pay Level-2, with a basic pay scale of ₹19,900–₹63,200. DEO posts fall in Pay Level-4 or Level-5 depending on the post, while DEO Grade ‘A’ is in Pay Level-4. Additional allowances are governed by the applicable Central Government service rules.

Application Fee

The application fee is ₹100. Women candidates, candidates belonging to SC, ST and PwBD categories and eligible Ex-Servicemen are exempt from payment of the fee.

Selection Process

SSC CHSL selection is conducted through Tier-I and Tier-II computer-based examinations. Tier-II includes Mathematical Abilities and Reasoning, English Language and General Awareness, a qualifying Computer Knowledge Test and a Skill Test/Typing Test where applicable. The detailed notice should be checked for post-specific requirements and negative marking.

5. Complete Aadhaar authentication or the alternative verification process prescribed by SSC.

7. Upload the prescribed signature and other documents.
8. Pay the applicable fee.
9. Submit the application and save the confirmation page.

Important Application Instructions

SSC has introduced/reiterated Aadhaar-based authentication and live photograph capture for the application process. Candidates who do not use Aadhaar authentication must follow the alternative identity-document process specified by SSC. For the Hindi typing test, candidates should also follow the prescribed Mangal font requirement.
