Eligibility
Candidates generally need an engineering degree from a recognised university/institution or another qualification specifically recognised under the ESE rules. The age limit is 21 to 30 years as on 1 January 2027, subject to the relaxations and exceptions in the official rules.
Selection Process
The examination has three broad stages: Preliminary Examination, Main Examination and Personality Test. The Preliminary Examination is objective, the Main Examination is conventional/written, and candidates qualifying through the written stages proceed to the Personality Test as prescribed.
Application Fee
The reported examination fee is ₹200. Female candidates and candidates belonging to SC, ST and PwBD categories are exempt subject to the official rules.
